Question by yahoo1: did I get a virus on my computer from a free adult website?
I was on a free adult website and my computer screen locked up telling they were the FBI and I had to pay a $ 300 fine using the moneypak. Is this a internet scam?
Yes I have norton anti virus.

    Yes, it is a well known scam!

    I would use malwarebytes form malwarebytes.org, it is free and very good.

    Download the software, install then update it.

    Then run a deeps scan in safe mode.

    Can you say reformat time? because that is one that also has the rootkit installed

    scrub the hard drive and do a reinstall,otherwise you will not be able to thoroughly get rid of it

  3. The FBI does not fine people for internet use, nor would they ever use Moneypak

    If that doesn't work, you need to get your computer professionally repaired as this can be a bear to remove
    This trojan is most commonly found on porn and music/movie download sites

  4. Hi, Yes, it is a scam. DON'T PAY!!! If you pay nothing will happen. It is called Trojan:Win32/Tobfy!mp3 it is ransomeware. FBI.gov admits they didn't make it.
